The Solitary Cycle: Capturing Qingxi's Winter Morning on iPhone 17
The solitary bike ride through Qingxi began on a crisp, cold, and sunny morning, with the air sharp with the scent of winter and damp earth.
The journey commenced as the sun crested the horizon, painting the lake's sunrise in brilliant orange. A wrist-worn smartwatch noted the cool temperatures as the rider set off.
The road was quiet, with only a brief stop at a stop sign before the path led into the denser woods. Signs of other early risers were minimal: a parked bicycle by a fence, and the rider’s solitary shadow stretching and shrinking on a dirt road.
Deeper in town, a bustling backdrop contrasted with the static still-life of a bicycle leaning on a street. The rider's fleeting shadow danced on the pavement again. More familiar sights followed: bicycles parked near a tree and on the side of the road.
The route then passed human infrastructure—a bridge over a river tangled with power lines—before yielding to nature's stillness: a forest pool perfectly mirroring the blue sky.
Despite the chill, life persisted. Small, vibrant moments punctured the monochrome woods: a mantis resting on a small flower, and a second flower bursting with color against the blue sky.
The ride concluded with a return to civilization, marked first by the large, deserted silhouette of a building, and then the familiar sight of a McDonald's sign. The beautiful, cold ride was perfectly captured through the lens of the iPhone 17.
