A Morning Bicycle Tour of Xi Village
The morning presented an ideal atmosphere for a bicycle ride in Xi Village, characterized by an uninterrupted expanse of blue sky. Donning my helmet, I took a deep inhalation of the crisp air and commenced the journey. This excursion was not merely a physical activity but a necessary change of environment to achieve a sense of revitalization.
The initial kilometers led directly through the village before the landscape opened toward the lake. The sole audible element was the satisfying, rhythmic sound of tires on the dirt road. My attention was completely focused on a distant structure and tree, forming a perfectly composed image of rural life. The air carried the distinct aromas of damp earth and a subtle trace of woodsmoke.
Eventually, I arrived at the expansive reservoir. I paused, resting my bicycle against a weathered wall, to absorb the panoramic view: a vast body of water encompassing a small island. The lake displayed an intense, deep blue hue, virtually mirroring the sky above. The only indication of the world beyond this tranquil setting was a subtle power line tracing the shore.
Resuming the ride, I proceeded along the lake's perimeter. The path followed a narrow, elevated dike, bordered by swaying yellow grasses and the flawless blue sky. The distant sight of another cyclist, a mere silhouette, emphasized the considerable scale of the environment.
The concluding segment offered a sun-drenched and rewarding experience, validating the early commencement of the trip. I ultimately coasted to a gentle stop in a small, grassy area near the edge of the village. Leaning the bicycle against a low fence, I recognized that the scene—my bike positioned against the backdrop of the mountains—provided the perfect conclusion to the morning. This journey served as an excellent initiation to the day.
