A Dongguan Autumn: Captured with the Ricoh GR II
Under the late-October sun in Dongguan, the Ricoh GR II's 'Positive Film' setting captured a day of street wandering.
The morning revealed the city's quiet rhythm: a solitary bicycle, a vintage Mini Cooper contrasting with the Chinese metropolis, and the constant hum of traffic. Details emerged amidst the rush—the veins of a green leaf, the engineering of a car wheel, and a cheerful yellow bench.
The focus shifted to city transport textures: a bike stripe, a handle with a green light, and a motorcycle grip, alongside a car driving down the street. High vantage points showed tall buildings against a cloudy sky and the organized chaos of a parking area, with small details like a street sign on a tree also noted.
A midday break offered a cup of tea, followed by a feast of Guangdong cuisine: shrimp dumplings, various soups, vibrant curry shrimps, and fried food.
The day concluded in transit, with a final glimpse of the modern world—a cell phone resting on the dashboard, framed by the car's instruments. Another sunny day in Dongguan was perfectly documented through the Ricoh GR II's warm lens.
