Sheung Shui Flavors and Street Life: A Sony A6700 Photo Essay
Our enjoyable lunch at Tea Wood in Sheung Shui began under the bright sun. The meal started with a warm cup of ginger black tea, notably served with a spoon placed inside the cup. The table setting itself was distinctive, featuring Tea Wood branded chopsticks resting on a plate and a novelty, shovel-shaped spoon tucked into a cup.
We started our meal with a sweet treat: a dessert of taro balls, grass jelly, and red beans. This was followed by a savory side of fried tofu and duck blood. For the main course, we had a comforting bowl of beef needle topped with coriander. We concluded our lunch by sharing a plate of fried dough sticks and a mixed bowl of local street snacks, which included tempura, sausage, and salt and pepper chicken.
Stepping outside after lunch, the street scene was vibrant. We saw a line of parked bicycles and a group of pedestrians walking by. Daily life unfolded around us: a couple was busy loading their purchases onto their bikes, while another pair pushed a stroller carrying their young boy down the street. The road was busy with cyclists, including a person riding alone, a man with another cyclist following him, and a third man also cycling by himself. A large double-decker bus drove past, contributing to the city's lively atmosphere. We paused briefly to look at a display of instant coffee bags arranged on a table outside a store. As the light changed, a tall building on the corner of the street was cast in shadow against the bright sky, a silent observer of the bustling afternoon.
