Photo Walk: A Morning in Qingxi Town
The morning in Qingxi Town unfolded with a soft, photographic light along the main river, the air fresh with the promise of a beautiful day. My walk was a journey through the town's natural and subtle human-made details.
Reflections and Wild Flora:
The walk began by capturing the playful reflections of the early light in a mirror ball featuring Nerium Oleander flowers, a bright spot by the water. I then focused on the quiet presence of local flora, noting a branch with a few Flueggea Suffruticosa fruits.
Color and Human Presence:
The town's colors appeared in unexpected places. An unknown artist had left a large splash of blue paint on the concrete surface, with a few clover leaves nearby. A more cultivated, vibrant splash was found in a garden with a yellow Canna (King Humbert) flower against a green background. The juxtaposition of human activity and nature was starkly captured in a discarded moment: a bottle of empty liquor with a plastic cup sitting on the grass.
Macro Details:
My lens found beauty in the miniature world. I photographed a delicate close up of an Ageratum Conyzoides flower and a shy, small Tridax Procumbens flower with a soft, blurry background. The insect life was equally captivating: a tiny small Coelophora Inaequalis bug on a small flower and a pair of Asian lady beetles on a flower.
Textures and Botanical Features:
Closer to the river, the texture of the plants became the focus, with a detailed shot of Job’s Tears (Coix lacryma-jobi) and the clean, vertical lines of two green Typha leaves. Other plants added to the botanical tapestry, including a pink Canna flower with a green stem, a fly sitting on a blade of grass, and a detailed close up of a bunch of cogon grasses (Imperata cylindrica).
Cultural and Final Views:
The natural beauty of the town was officially acknowledged with a photo of a red flower in front of a street stone tablet that reads "China's most beautiful town" in Chinese. The walk concluded with a series of vivid final shots: the intense hues of Red Bougainvillea flowers in the garden and the creeping, purple charm of Ipomoea Cairica flowers, including a close-up of a purple Ipomoea Cairica flower with green leaves and tiny ants on it.
This photo walk was a detailed exploration, capturing the quiet, vivid moments that define a beautiful Qingxi morning.
