A Return to Macau: A Decade Revisited

My recent trip to Macau, at the tail end of a sunny May in 2025, marked my second encounter with this fascinating city. A significant span of roughly ten years had passed since my initial visit, the memories of which involved a sea journey from Shekou port in Shenzhen to Macau. Stepping back onto Macanese soil, I was struck by the remarkable preservation of its streetscapes. The familiar sights and ambiance remained largely untouched, a comforting echo of my previous experience.

This time, however, I was accompanied by my trusty Lumix GM1 camera, paired with the sharp and versatile Lumix 20mm F1.7 prime lens. This compact setup became my constant companion, diligently capturing the visual tapestry of Macau as I rediscovered its charms. Every image I took during this trip was framed through this lens, a testament to its capability and my preference for its rendering.

Looking ahead, I envision this post serving as a personal time capsule. In the years to come, should I have the pleasure of visiting Macau once more, I hope these captured moments will act as a vivid refresher, allowing me to compare and contrast my experiences across time and further enrich my appreciation for this unique destination. The photographs, therefore, are not merely snapshots, but rather fragments of memory intentionally preserved for future reflection.
