Changshawang Service Area: A Blue Whale Oasis on the Road to Shanwei

Introduction

During a road trip from Dongguan to Shanwei, I happened to stop at the Changshawang Service Area, located on the west side of Shanwei City and right next to the Changshawang estuary. The service area's unique "Blue Whale Canopy" design immediately caught my attention, leading to this wonderful encounter.

The main building of the service area is designed in an eye-catching "Blue Whale" shape, visible from afar to attract visitors. The sky-blue dome and the blue parking space markings complement the clear blue sky of the day, creating a refreshing and captivating scene that makes you want to spend more time exploring.

Venturing further into the service area along a road near the coast, the first thing that greets the eye is an ocean-themed decorative wall adorned with lifebuoy and anchor-shaped ornaments.

Next, an elegant Pink Panther cartoon sculpture sits quietly on a pink bench, seemingly waiting for visitors to stop for a photo.

Following that, a uniquely shaped, colorful Dutch windmill draws many tourists to stop. The windmill is brightly painted in blue, yellow, and red, featuring a distinct and highly decorative style.

The service area also offers a dedicated RV camping zone, where various types of RVs can be seen parked. Owners are enjoying a slow-paced life here. Some are cooking dumplings next to their RVs, while others have brewed tea, set up tables and chairs, and are leisurely admiring the beautiful scenery.

A vibrant outdoor camping promotion sign, featuring the themes of "Camping," "Into Wild," and "Happy Camp," advertises the Changshawang Service Area. It creates a relaxed and cozy atmosphere of enjoying the wilderness life between the mountains and the sea, on the edge of the city.

In an open space, on an open-air swing set named "Happy Time," a casually dressed person is gently swinging back and forth, showcasing a state of freedom and relaxation.

This unexpected encounter with the Changshawang Service Area undoubtedly became one of the most beautiful memories of my journey. Although I couldn't explore the entire service area, this perfectly leaves a reason to look forward to the next reunion. See you next time, Changshawang!
