Shanghai Old Street: A Dawn with Ricoh GR II

Introduction

With my Ricoh GR II, I captured the Shanghai Old Street at dawn on July 3rd, 2025, using the "Positive Film" style. The 18.3mm F2.8 GR lens framed skyscrapers against the evolving sky, transitioning from cool blues to vibrant daylight, highlighting urban design and brick facades.

Walking deeper, I observed composite and concrete streets, a blue branch, and diverse urban life: a land vehicle, parked bicycles, a compact city car amidst iron and wire, and various walls. A cat moved gracefully through alleys. Chinese architecture dominated the skyline, its intricate rooflines showcasing the city's blend of history, structure, and life.
